I write the following in the hope that you will be able to help me spread my message to the world that all we really need to do to make changes in this world is to reach out and help each other -- to work hard at first loving and looking after ourselves and then we will be able to move on to help others -- to work hard at not judging another living soul no matter how hard it may seem to be able to do this at times. I have been dedicating my life to try and do this especially in the last 10 years or so. I have included an excerpt of what I have sent to others to try and spread the word. What I write here is primarily about the "Unanimity Flag" that I have created with the help of my partner. I do believe so, so much that we are all connected and that we need to stop flying different flags and instead to live, work and breath under the umbrella of oneness and compassion and kindness for one another. I believe very much that each and every one of us can help to promote this -- to me it is the key to the secret of world peace.

Following is information regarding the unveiling of the "Unanimity Flag" and how it came to be:

The flag is a creation of my consciousness - my desire to see less pain and discord in this world. The "Unanimity Flag" is part of my best effort to help make this so.

The word "Unanimity" comes from two words: "uni" meaning "one" and "anima" meaning "Soul," "living force," "vital energy, power, or principle". Essentially, it means "Oneness of Soul," or "having the same Soul." It implies oneness in consciousness, motive, intent, aim, and purpose.

Just to give you a little background to help you understand where this passion of mine comes from, I will provide a little information regarding some of my life's experience. Twice in my life I have been diagnosed as "schizohphrenic" with over twenty years between the two episodes -- once in my early 20's and again in my late 40's. It's a very long and personal story of triumph over what could have been very tragic events in my life. It certainly woke me up to what matters in life and how we can so easily fall between the cracks. In both situations, I was successful in convincing the professionals that I was not deserving of this label, and I refused to live my life buying other people's beliefs and best judgements about myself.

I have to admit that I seemed to display a lot of the symptoms of what the medical books would have diagnosed as this mental health unwellness but it was more my belief about what they were saying about me that almost made me believe and become what they saw me as. As I readily admitted that I did sometimes see what others could not see and/or hear (and sometimes still do), judgements were made. But what I discovered once I found my own power and put my faith in something bigger than myself was that what I had (and have) is a gift and not an unwellness unless I let it be.

Anyway to try and cut to the chase -- one day when I was out on a pass from the hospital, I ended up in a small park in the west end of the city. As I stood there enjoying my temporary freedom gazing at my surroundings, I ended up resting my eyes on a multitude of flags flying in the summer's breeze of that very hot afternoon. Upon closer investigation, I noticed that there was a representation for each province and territory in Canada. Immediately, the thought that came to me was -- "Where is the flag for everyone"?

Why do we have so many, many man-made boundaries and fences and walls constantly being erected to keep us all so separate-- why are we all flying separate flags?? -- it seems so much of what discussions in this world start out or end up with are -- my this, or my that -- or that's mine -- that's not what we've all come here for -- we need more we's and our's -- we weren't born to maybe just get an education, maybe get married and have some kids -- to buy some toys and die even if that would mean that we would have a lot of "mys" in our life. I believe there needs to be a flag to represent the universe -- to represent all of us as brothers and sisters.

We need to work to have emblems, symbols and yes even a flag that will encompass all of mankind -- anything that will help motivate us to once again get back to thinking along the lines of the universal good. WE DO NOT NEED SEPARATE FLAGS PULLING US APART. We don't need to think "Well he's from there and she's from here" or wherever else. We are all from here -- the world!

To me, most of people's suffering in this world is caused by us as human beings only watching out for those closest to us and living our lives surrounded by fear of losing our loved ones or our belongings, and we end up digging huge big holes and crawling deeper and deeper inside them. To a large extent, we are creating what we most fear by hanging on so tight to all the things and people that we think belong to us. Nothing in this life is permanent and nothing belongs to us permanently. When we can let go and let God -- whoever our God might be, that's when we draw more love and joy to ourselves then we've ever imagined even in our wildest dreams.

In summary, as time has gone by and I keep learning how to feel joy and inner peace in my own life, and I keep rediscovering how I am every bit as special as anyone else in my life (the same as everyone else), I have started to look outward again. Now that I have found myself again, I want to do everything in my power to make a difference in this world. I want to offer as much assistance as I can and do my part to bring us all back together again -- to have us all working together for the common good of all. I believe if one of us hurts, we all hurt and if one of us succeeds, that at least in a small way, all of us succeed. Therefore the flag is one of my ways of trying to help bring this all about. My hope and dream is to see this flag flying from every vehicle -- from every house and building all over the world!

The flag was officially unveiled on Saturday, June 28th, 2003 at the "Unity in Energy & Wholeness of Body & Spirit" Conference in Whitehorse, Yukon.
